Beach Beard Contest

When we go to the Cape it is not so much a romantic getaway for P and I. I am completely fine with this considering that it is my place and I need my me time while I am there. So, it is extremely convenient that my brother, T and his friends, J and A are there as well. P, as I have explained is a child at heart (to put it in the nicest terms possible) so being able to ‘play’ with 3 other big kids is vacation in itself.

This year, in addition to eating too much at Grumpy’s on an almost daily basis, bocce tournaments, trackball and Halo (yes, P brought the XBox) they had a “Beach Beard” contest. Now, a week for most people, is not a long time to grow a beard. They realized this on about Thursday and decided that maybe they should create an interesting beard rather than just any ole’ beard. So they decided to go combination redneck/guido. This was the end result for T and P (J and A shaved earlier that day before I was able to get a pic.

Nice huh. Here’s a close up of P…

You can see how it was very difficult to resist his advances.

Ah, facial landscaping. Nice job, P! I can see how much little boy is left in this man. Most men hit maturity by age thirty, you my dear may not see it him until thirty-three, thirty-five. But I am sure you knew that … And your brother, the firefighter, not too shabby either!

That is so the beginnings of a Fu Manchu. He should be forced to continue to let it grow out. :) Gotta throw my props to the bocce! We love playing it, especially after watching old French and Italian men playing it.

One time my husband decided to get rid of his beard after I had gone to sleep. But he didn’t get rid of the whole thing. I screamed when I woke up the next morning next to someone who looked like Earl HickeyWhen they found out about it, my brothers all high-fived him. Where’s the love? they’re ALL supposed to be on my side

“You can see how it was very difficult to resist his advances.”That was the perfect line to end that story.
